Understanding the extent of how hazardous a confined space can be is vital. The Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries (CFOI) of the Bureau of Labor Statistic showed between 2011 and 2018, 1,030 workers have lost lives due to confined spaces. Most of them were preventable if proper training or awareness with appropriate procedures were conducted. Our course for Confined Spaces Certification for Competent Person is designed by taking the safety standards detailed in the 29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA.
Who Needs The OSHA Competent Person for Confined Space Training?
Our OSHA Competent Person for Confined Space Training is ideal for:

OSHA's confined space regulations do not specify a set frequency for training renewal, unlike some other OSHA regulations. However, industry best practices suggest providing Competent Persons with Confined Space Training at least once every two years.
Additionally, OSHA Standards require employers to provide training to affected employees in the following instances.
- Prior to the employee beginning work in a confined space.
- When there is a change in an employee’s duties while working in a confined space.
- When a change in operations introduces a hazard not previously addressed in an employee's confined space training course.
- If the employer has reason to believe that employees are not following entry procedures properly or that their understanding/use of the methods is insufficient.
OSHA requires two annual actions related to confined spaces: (1) Employers must review the permit program annually, and (2) Rescue personnel must conduct practice rescues at least once a year.
This course meets and exceeds the compliance requirements outlined in OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA.
